Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Marvin Kersh, 70 of Benton, Louisiana, formerly of Groveton, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18th, 2016 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Old Plantersville Cemetery in Plantersville, Texas.
Jimmy was born November 25th, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 14th, 2016 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Vivian Thompson Kersh and his loving wife Vondah Kay Kersh.
Mr. Kersh was an avid business man and was always making plans for whatever new endeavors came into his path. When he wasn't working he always enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to play 42 and watching movies with the family and friends. He also enjoyed going fishing.
He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy Don Kersh and wife Shannon of Huntsville and Marvin Brad Kersh of Madisonville; two grandchildren, Trey Kersh and Danielle Rayburn; his very special friend Sonya Maxwell and her children Blake, Trevor and Kelsey Maxwell, all of Benton, Louisiana and his sister Patricia Davis and her husband Neil of Kennard. Mr. Kersh is also survived by numerous other relatives and many friends.
