Jimmie Franklin Yarbrough

Jimmie Franklin Yarbrough, age 81 of Apple Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Lufkin. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, the sixth day of September in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, the seventh day of September at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church with Bro. Lonnie Valance officiating. He will be escorted to his final resting place in Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie by his pallbearers, Kristopher Carpenter, Aaron Pyle, Samuel Yarbrough, Caleb Yarbrough, Derek Constante, Walter Byford, Ernest Byford, Robert Smitherman and Tristan Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Kirkendoll and Dewayne Tullos.
Mr. Yarbrough was born on the twenty-second day of July in 1933 in San Augustine County, Texas. His parents were the late Adolph Yarbrough and Annie (Eddings) Yarbrough. Jimmie loved the Lord and attended church with his family at Calvary Temple. He loved Israel and prayed for them every day. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed doing any type of work that involved him working with his hands. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. He also had a love for wood working and had a very strong skill for making prized trinkets for his family. He loved his family and he enjoyed being able to spend any quality time with them that was possible. Jimmie was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister and three brothers. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty years, Gloria Yarbrough, of Apple Springs; his four children, daughter, Jeanette Valance and husband, Lonnie Valance, of Apple Springs, daughter, Barbara Yarbrough, of Apple Springs, son, Arthur Yarbrough and wife, Sharlene Yarbrough, of Groveton, daughter, Anna Pyle and husband, Stacy Pyle of Apple Springs; ten grandchildren, Wade Valance and wife, Kelly Valance, of Bedford, Amanda Flores and husband, Damon Flores, of Euless, Londa Vance and husband, Carlton Vance, of Haslett, Kristopher Carpenter and wife, Sasha Carpenter, of Apple Springs, Kacie Carpenter, of Apple Springs, Samuel Yarbrough, of Groveton, Caleb Yarbrough, of Groveton, Stephanie Pyle Brasuell, of Apple Springs, Tiffany Constante and husband, Derek Constante, of Apple Springs and Aaron Pyle, of Apple Springs; seventeen great grandchildren, Dominic, Elizabeth, Erica, Zachary, Logan, Nikie, Carter, Ladon, C.J., Kelton, Tristan, Danielle, Rylan, Harlon, Colton, Rebecca and Aden; sister, Louise Waller, of Arkansas; brother, Roy Galloway, of Houston; brother, Troy Galloway, of Conroe; seven half-sisters; three half-brothers; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
