Jenice Lee Cathey was born March 17, 1933 in Groveton, Texas to Sam Lee and Mildred King Lee. She was called to her eternal home on October 15, 2020 in Lufkin, TX at the age of 87 years.

Jenice worked tediously to help to provide for her family.  She loved spending time with her children, but she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved to hear the word of God and attended church at Josserand Baptist Church until her health would no longer allow.  She also, loved animals, especially cats.  Jenice rarely met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with her fellow peers.

Mrs. Cathey is survived by her children:  son, Glen Terrel Cathey and wife, Brenda of Humble, TX; daughter, Cynthia Ann Rester and husband, John of Groveton-Centerville, TX; son, David Wayne Cathey and wife, Helen of Houston, TX; daughter, Karen Sue Rosser and husband, David of Flat Prairie, TX; grandchildren:  Glen Wiley Cathey, Samuel Lynn, Cathey, Tammy Jean Sinclair, Jessica Lee Correa, Justin Charles Cathey, Samantha Lynn Cathey, Amanda Haasl, Johnathon Rester, Johnny Rester, Crystal Guillory and husband, Jason, Courtney Chapman and husband, Caleb, Cassandra Cathey, Elizabeth Nottingham and husband, Zachary, Katherine Stephens and husband, Hunter, Kacie Purvis and husband, Taylor, Kari Eppler and husband, Kyle; great grandchildren:  Kolton Walker Correa, Konner Glen Correa, Sarahbeth Irene Cathey, Dylan Scott Sinclair, Isabel Elise Young, Gracie Rester, Emeri Rester, Kegan McClelland, Rylan McClelland, Coby Guillory, Channing Guillory, Camden Guillory, Willow Chapman, Shane Nottinham, Jake Nottingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Lee and Mildred Lee; husband, Glen C. Cathey and twins siblings, Merle and Pearl.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX with Bro. Bueford Rogers officiating.  Interment in Bennett Cemetery.
