On February 27, 2024, Jeannie Marie Dunaway Odom went home to be with the Lord at the age of sixty.
She was born on February 25, 1964, to Bobby Joe and Mary Lou (Letney) Dunaway, in Houston, Texas. She worked as a dispatcher for eleven years. Jeannie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them as often as possible. She especially, enjoyed time with her beloved grandchildren.  Jeannie also loved being outdoors where she could garden and spend time with the Lord. She put her hope and trust in God.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Joe and Mary Lou Dunaway; son, Robert Marcus Odom; siblings: Richard Dunaway, Millicent Dunaway, Lana Vaughn and husband, Tommy Vaughn, Thomas Dunaway, and Kathy Barecky and husband, James Barecky.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Carroll of Point Blank, TX; two daughters, Kayla Hill and husband, Larry Hill of Trinity, TX and Allison Herron of Point Blank, TX; son, Brandon Odom of Trinity, TX; grandchildren: Jorden, Jason, Robert, Cole, Jolene, Kaitlynn, Lucas, Madelynn, Maverick, and Layne; brother, Joe Dunaway and wife, Dee of South Carolina; sister, Lisa Cathey and husband, Danny of Groveton, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Death leaves a memory no one can heal. But love leaves a memory no one can steal. She will always be loved and missed dearly by her family and friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to visitation from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Groveton Funeral Home. Celebration of life service to follow Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2 pm at the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Pastor D.R. McNaughton officiating.
