J.C. Whittlesey and Odessa Kennedy Whittlesey

Funeral Services for J.C. Whittlesey and Odessa Kennedy Whittlesey, 87 and 77 years of age, of Groveton, will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Calvary Baptist Church in Nogalus Prairie, with Bros. Lester McAdams and Neil Kemper officiating. Interment to follow in the Moore Cemetery in Groveton. Visitation will be Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM in the Calvary Baptist Church in Nolgauls Prairie. Pallbearers are Randel Whittlesey, David Whittlesey, Woody Reese, Jr., Darrell Harbuck, Craig Reese, and Larry Horn. Honorary Pallbearers are Dwayne Whittlesey, Luke Whittlesey, Jeffrey Williams, and Wes King. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Nogalus Prairie and to the Moore Cemetery Association.

J.C. was born on October 25, 1923 in Trinity County, Texas the son of the late Floyd L. Whittlesey and Bessie Clark Whittlesey. Odessa was born on October 7, 1933 in Trinity County, the daughter of the late Cleaver Powell Kennedy and Lona Ester Kennedy. They both passed away December 22, 2010 in Crockett, Texas.

They are survived by their loving sons, James C. Whittlesey and wife Darlene of Apple Springs, and Larry D. Whittlesey and wife Terri of Groveton, sisters, Nadine Reese and husband Woody of Livingston, Betty Whittlesey and husband George of Groveton, and Vonda Harbuck and husband Wayne of Groveton, grandchildren, Dwayne Whittlesey and wife Jennifer of Groveton, Tiffany King and husband Wes of Hudson, Nicole Williams and husband Jeffrey of Pollok, Luke Whittlesey and wife Jessica of Pearland, Alisha Praznik of Pearland, and Brandon Rodrigues of Groveton, great grandchildren, Cassity Ann King, Logan Dwayne Whittlesey, Kayla Breann King, Sydney Bree Williams, Kyle James King, Jamisen Leigh Whittlesey, and Trevor Cinch Williams. They are also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
