Jay Reynolds of Tyler, Texas passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024. At the age of 80, Jay walked into the welcoming arms of proud mother, father and brother and was greeted by all those who entered his new heavenly home before him.

Jay was born on March 12, 1944, to JD and Eula Mae Reynolds, in Crockett, Texas. Jay enjoyed a successful 45-year career, owning his own business in the Air Conditioning and Electric industry. The relationships he built throughout his professional life were based on integrity, honesty, and mutual respect. Many of his business connections evolved into strong, lasting friendships and his coworkers are "family," in the truest sense of the word. Jay was one of the hardest working men and was not scared of work. He would work from sunrise to sundown, and no project was too small.

Jay has four sons, Ricky, Randy, Rusty and Rocky who all worked for him at one time or the other. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed spending time with his boys doing those things and all out on his land. His most memorable hunting trip was with one of his sons, traveling to Montana where he harvested a 6x6 elk.

Jay leaves a legacy of love and Joy. While he was in the nursing homes the past few years, he gained a nickname of "Cowboy" because often he would sleep with his cowboy boots on and his cowboy hat on his belly. Jay always knew how to crack a joke and make a name for himself, he truly brought joy everywhere he went and loved to pick on the ladies! He was a ladies' man from the day he was born until the day he got called home.

Jay is survived by his sons: Ricky Reynolds, Randy Reynolds and wife, Denise Reynolds, Rusty Reynolds, and Rocky Reynolds and wife, Christy Reynolds; mother of his children, Maurine Reynolds; grandchildren: Brittany, Jesse, Brooke, Trinity, Cheyanne, and Colton and their spouses; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Rebecca Hutto and Bertha Doyle and husband, Bill Doyle; and nephew, Robert Wayne Hutto and wife, Karen Hutto.
Jay was proceeded in death by this father and mother, JD Reynolds and Mae Reynolds and brother, Ray Reynolds.
