On July 15, 2024, Janice Lynn Amos went home to be with the Lord at the age of seventy-three.
She was born on January 12, 1951, to James Beasley and Maudie (Watson), in Houston, Texas. Janice loved her family and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as often as possible. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed going fishing, looking at face book to keep up with the rest of her family and friends and she really enjoyed going gambling. She loved to travel and venture out whenever she could.

Mrs. Amos was preceded in death by her loving husband, Woodrow Amos in 2016; mother, Maudie LaPointe; father, James Beasley; son, Mark Newman; siblings: Lionel, Theldon, and Sandra.
She is survived by her children, Ronda Luce and husband, Keith, Scott Pocius and wife, Misty, Leslie Newman and wife, Chastity, Greg Newman and wife, Jeanie, Shannon Newman and wife, Destiny, Elizabeth Coots and husband, Wesley, Deborah Hunt; grandchildren, Ashley, Greg, Jr., Katie, Austin, Tiffany, Mark, Peyton, Laney, Kaleb, Kelsey, Dylan, Abby, Emily, and Corbin; great grandchildren, Harrison, Hadley, and Christian; brother-in-law, and sister-in-law,  Jackson Mahle and Frankie Beasley and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Death leaves a memory no one can heal. But love leaves a memory no one can steal. She will always be loved and missed dearly by her family and friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to visitation from 10 am until 11 am on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Groveton Funeral Home in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel. Celebration of life service to follow at 11 am at the Groveton Funeral Home. Private burial after services.
