Janet Marie Strong Grantom age 63, of Porter, Texas was born on January 4, 1951 in Houston, Texas to her parents, Leo and Gertie White Strong. She completed her earthly journey and went to be with her Lord and savior on March 9, 2014 at her residence in Porter. She was married to her husband, Kenneth Grantom in 1970 in Apple Springs, Texas and they moved to Porter to raise their family in 1973. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked in childcare at Childtime Learning Center for fourteen years and loved teaching all of the children. She loved her Lord and attended services at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 234 73 Sorters Rd, Porter, Texas with Bro. Paul Price officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs and she will be escorted to her final resting place by her pallbearers, Joseph Castro, Jared Castro, Yadir Rodriguez, Marcus Shelton, Brandon Stanley and Jared Boring.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Gertie Mae Strong; and a brother, Gary Strong. Her survivors include her husband, Kenneth Grantom, of Porter, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Grantom, of Porter, Texas and Loretta Clubb and husband, David Clubb, of New Caney, Texas; two grandsons, Logan Clubb and Landon Club, both, of New Caney, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne Strong and Melinda Strong, of Apple Springs, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Danny Strong and Bonnie Strong, of Lufkin, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra Minshew and Charles Minshew, of Centralia, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, also survive.
