James Donis (StuPot) Parker, age 75, of Groveton, Texas, completed his earthly journey and went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 17, 2014 in Lufkin, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Monday, January 20, 2014 at Groveton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery in Groveton, Texas. He will be escorted to his final resting place by his pallbearers, Lindel Dial, Vance Dial, Keith Kesinger, Jimmy Smith, Don Laroe, Jabo West, Ronnie McCarty and Eddie Dean Kennedy. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Alen, Bobby Murry, James Doyle, Cecil Wayne King, Brent Phillips, John Thompson, Slick Whitmire, Robert Buzek, Joe Ebarb, Linky Meshell, Jimmy Wells, Hank Shank, Gary Magee and Robert Davis.

James served as a former Constable for Pct. 1 and later worked for TX DOT for thirty-three years until retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events. He also enjoyed being able to go hunting or fishing with them. He was a member of First Baptist Church Groveton and a past member of Trinity County Sheriff's Posse. StuPot was very active with the Sheriff's Posse and enjoyed participating in numerous events, including grilling BBQ with his fellow members and friends.

James was born on August 18, 1938 to his parents, Cuyler and Bertie (King) Parker in Groveton, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cuyler and Bertie Parker and two brothers, J.C. and John Hulen Parker. James leaves behind his legacy to his wife, Rita (Lilly) Parker, of Groveton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jill Brockway Thompson and Ray Thompson, of Palestine, Texas; daughter and future son-in-law, Jennifer Brockway, of Groveton, Texas and Jerry Baker, of Latexo, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Marie Parker, of Groveton, Texas; four grandchildren, Chad and Celsie Taylor, of Palestine, Texas and Emrie and Cuyler Parker, of Groveton, Texas; sister, Ila Parker Vincent, of Houston, Texas; numerous other relatives and friends, also survive.
