James "Snuffy" Lamar Kesinger, 63, of Groveton, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2017 at his home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Brother Buford Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, Texas.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Groveton Funeral Home.

"Snuffy" was born June 29, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas the son of Lonnie Patrick Kesinger, Sr. and Doris (Howell) Kesinger.  He was a graduate of Groveton High School and later worked in Automotive parts sales.  He was an extremely hard worker and was known as the Best in Automotive parts sales for his knowledge and love of cars.  He was an avid golfer and loved to watch or play sports of all kinds.  He loved his family and especially loved being a grandfather.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandson and he was very excited about the upcoming birth of his granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kristopher James Kesinger and a brother, Dale Ray Kesinger.  Survivors include his loving daughter Leah (Kesinger) Minter and husband, Kurt Minter of Groveton; grandson, Kutter Minter of Groveton; five brothers:  Lonnie Patrick Kesinger, Jr. and wife, Sharon Kesinger of Groveton, Thomas Kesinger and wife, Shirley Kesinger of Groveton, Mark Kesinger and wife, Wba Kesinger of Rosenberg, Keith Kesinger and wife, Jerrie Moore of Groveton, James Ray Kesinger and wife, Kathy Kesinger of Humble; as well his many beloved nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
