Funeral services for James Wesley Holmes, 30 of Pennington, will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Groveton Funeral Home  Cartwright Memorial Chapel with Bro. Dennis Ivey and Bro. Lester McAdams officiating. Interment will be in the Pennington Cemetery.
James was born on December 16,1982 and went to be with his Lord on June 25, 2013 .
He was a self-employed electrical contractor. He graduated from Groveton High School where he excelled in athletics and was a member of the FFA. As a youth he was an Honorary Girl Scout joining his mother and sisters at camp. He attended the Harvest Baptist Church in Crockett.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Malcomn Murray Holmes, Harvey Franklin Bazmore and Charles Lowery.
He leaves to survive his daughter: Zara "Jazmine" Holmes of Groveton and a son Zachary "Dewaine" Parker of Groveton; His father and step-mother Wesley & Theresa Holmes of Pennington; Mother and step-father: Leslie & Delman Orme of Porter Springs; Sisters: Jennifer Reeves of Grapeland and Jesica Holmes of Crockett; Grandmothers: Ola Mae Holmes Lowery of PossumWalk, Leora Bazmore of Buffalo, Lulla Bell Orme of Porter Springs and Bernadine Young of Grapeland; Step sister Brandi Rose of Hudson; step-brothers: Robert Orme of Porter Springs, Timothy Orme of Porter Springs; Brothers in law: Larrett Reeves and Billy Minter.
Pallbearers will be Jason Avery, James Wars, Gerald Hall, Jason Moseley, Larrett Reeves, Dan Holmes, Zachary Holmes and Carl Nunley.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 at Groveton Funeral Home.
