James Lanier Harding, age 80, of Houston, Texas was born in Groveton and passed away on March 1, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home. Pastor Neil Kemper will officiate with James Due and Kyle Harding assisting.

Mr. Harding is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jessie McClendon Harding; brothers: Everett Harding and Robert L. Harding and sisters: Teenie Harding Powistzky, Erna Harding Frasier, Lucille Harding Frederick, Lynn Harding Kapalski and Joy Harding Wendt. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Geneva Due Harding of Houston, TX; daughter, Gail Harding of Houston, TX; son, Craig Harding of Houston, TX; brother, Donald R. Harding and wife, Lajuan Harding of Houston, TX; brother, Charles Harding and wife, Vikki Harding of Louisiana; grandson, Stephen Harding of Houston, TX; brother-in-law, James Due and wife, Deborah Due of Groveton, TX; sister-in-law, Edith Harding of Manor, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and friends also, survive.
Mr. Harding's family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
