Funeral services for James Griffith, 75 of Groveton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas. Burial will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Mount Olivet Funeral Home and Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas.
James was born on July 8, 1940 and God called Mr. Griffith home on Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Lufkin, Texas.
James was a Navy Veteran who served on the USS Essex. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thurman and Lou Ella Griffith and a brother Louis Griffith.
James is survived by his sisters Ella Mae Patterson and Louise Farmer; brother Ricky Griffith; brother-in-law Jay Patterson; sister-in-law Dawn Griffith; daughters Marie Lawrence, Phyllis Kuhlman, Gloria Selby; sons-in-law Kevin Lawrence and Terry Kuhlman; grandkids Vanessa Medina, Christi Graves, James Kuhlman, Jerrod Kuhlman, Aric Griffith and Miranda Griffith; eight great grandkids and loved by countless others.
