James "Jimmy" Earl Rogers, of Silsbee, formerly of Groveton passed away October 3, 2022, at the age of seventy-seven. Jimmy was born on June 23, 1945, in Houston, Texas to father, Jud Ford Rogers and mother, Bonnie (Cheek) Rogers.

Jimmy loved being a father and he especially loved spending time with his daughter and spoiling her every chance that he had. Jimmy also loved being a musician, where he played and sang in a band for twenty-three years. His most memorable times were getting the opportunity to play in a back-up band for Crystal Gayle, Ronnie Milsap, Roy Clark, Don Gibson, and Jim Reeves. He also enjoyed being outdoors and going to the beach to do a little fishing. Jimmy loved attending church services and listening to the word of God. He never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing his stories.
Mr. Rogers leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving daughter, Erin Rogers and fiancé, Darren; grandson, Tyler Kuehn; granddaughter, Morgann Kuehn; great granddaughter, Gloria Kuehn; siblings: sister, Sharon Carver; brother, Jerry Lynn Rogers and wife, Tena and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends also survive.

Mr. Rogers is preceded in death by his parents: Jud and Bonnie Rogers; brother, Wilburn Forest Rogers; and two sisters, Juanelle Maler, and Jessie Boyette; nephew, Jared Rogers.
Graveside services for Jimmy Rogers will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Bro. Charles Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
