Visitation for James Henry Clay, 64 of Groveton will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 17th, 2016 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18th, 2016 with Pastor Keith Jones officiating and burial will follow in Ellis Prairie Cemetery in Friday.
James was born on October 19th, 1951 in LaGrange, Georgia to William A. Clay and Dorothy (Cardwell) Clay. God called Mr. Clay home on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 in Groveton, Texas.
James loved to watch wrestling and NASCAR on the television and he enjoyed listening to the events as well. He enjoyed his daily visits with his friends and sitting outside drinking his coffee. He worked as a truck driver for numerous years and traveled quite a bit through his job. He was a loving son, brother and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William A. Clay and Dorothy Clay and his brother, William A. Clay, Jr.
James is survived by his sisters, LaMerle Smith of Livingston and Lola Bockel and husband, Jim of Houston; sister-in-law, Maritza Clay of Groveton; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
