Obituary

James Leeland Province "Bullfrog" of Groveton, Texas finished his race and completed the task the Lord Jesus had given him, entering eternal life on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.  He was born January 30 th , 1958 in Harris County, Texas. His parents were James Alfred Province and Opal Dwire Province. He began his career as making parts for the f15 and f16.  He was later employed with Lufkin Industries where he worked for 20 years.  He was an extremely hard worker as well as a strong, Christian man.  He belonged to the Machinist Union #1999.  During his lifetime, Mr. Province was very active within the community and enjoyed spending time with the youth. His hobbies included the love of going fishing, coaching little league baseball, talking on the CB Radio where his handle was… "Bullfrog here sitting on my lily pad" and he was a die-hard gun collector. You could always find him out shooting or out riding four-wheelers with his grandson Austin.  He was passionate about spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father James Alfred Province and his mother Opal Dwire Province. He is survived by his wife Barbara Province of Groveton, Texas; son James Alfred Province and wife Gina of Cypress, Texas; son John Dwayne Shaw and wife Christina of Cypress, Texas; daughter Ashley Diane Bell and husband Jonathon of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother David Wayne Province of Vicksburg, Mississippi; sister Jaycene Carol Rhodes and husband Thurston of Baytown, Texas; sister Susan Diane Cody and husband Billy of Livingston; grandchildren Leann Province, Austin Yargo, Madison Province and Addison Bell whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services for Mr. Province will be held Saturday, March 11 th , at 2:00 p.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with interment following at Carmona Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 10 th from 6p.m.-8p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home.
