James Richard Bowman, Sr., of Pennington, was born on August 4, 1947, to William Jefferson Bowman, Sr., and Billie Jo (Alexander) Bowman in Huntsville, Texas and passed away peacefully to his eternal home in heaven on February 14, 2022, at the age of 74 years in Crockett, Texas.
James loved to visit with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He particularly enjoyed ranching. He loved working with the horses and cows. He was a member and past local president of the East Texas Branch of Beefmaster Breeders United.
James is survived by his children: son, James Richard Bowman, Jr. of Huntsville; son: Jeremy Bowman and wife, Morrell of Grapeland; brother, William Jefferson Bowman, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Georgetown; grandchildren: Clay Bowman and wife, Katie of Palestine, Cheyenne Luce and husband, Hunter of Pennington, and John Bowman of Grapeland; great grandchild, Wrenley Bowman of Palestine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends also survive.
Mr. Bowman is preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Bowman, father, William Jefferson Bowman, Sr., and mother, Billie Jo Bowman.
The family will welcome visitors beginning Friday, February 18, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until graveside service time at 12:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity, Texas. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Honorary Pallbearers: Clay Bowman, Katie Bowman, Cheyenne Bowman Luce, Hunter Luce, John Bowman, and Wrenley Bowman.
