Obituary

Jack Morris Moore, 91, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 27, 2026. He was born on September 2, 1934, in Houston, Texas, to Edward and Evelyn (Haxthousen) Moore.
Jack was a carpenter by trade but a musician by heart. He loved playing the guitar and performed in a band, sharing his love of music with those around him. He also found immense joy in building things with his hands, reflecting both his skill and creativity. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, and hunting.
On June 4, 1954, Jack married the love of his life, Wilma, in Harris County, Texas. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and lasting memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Evelyn Moore; his brother, Eddie Moore; and his daughter, Sheila Marie Smith.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Moore; his son, Morris Moore and wife, Jeanie Moore; his grandchildren, Amy Ray Carlson and husband, Thomas Carlson, and Megan Castillo and husband, Beaux Castillo; his great-grandchildren, Kayla Timm and husband, Austin Timm, Kelsey Carlson and life partner, Reanna Carlson; his great-great grandchildren, Jessie Castillo, Georgia Castillo, Emily Timm, Kyle Timm, and Stevie Carlson; his brother, Clifford Moore and wife, Pat Moore; his sister, Sherry Duke and husband, Jerry Duke; sister, Patty Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Groveton Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 PM until service time at 1:00 PM on Wednesday July 1st, with Pastor Derrell Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Trevat Cemetery.
Jack will be remembered for the music he made, the things he built, the love he gave his family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
