Ivor Lee Smith of Groveton joined her Heavenly Host on November 15, 2025.
Ivor was born to Elmer Edward Fannin and Ivor Lorine Fannin on January 17, 1943 in
Trinity County.
Ivor was an active Baptist and loved her Church affiliation.
Ivor loved her City of Groveton, she spent time serving on the Lions Club at a point and any other activity that she felt led to assist with.
Ivor also enjoyed covering the Chamber meetings for the newspaper that Lee Smith was the editor of. She enjoyed journalism for the paper but her true love was caring for people, and taking care of elderly people in the community.
Ivor and Lee enjoyed traveling in their later years. She loved seeing new places.
Those who know Ivor will remember her for her strong personality and the unique way that she approached life.
Ivor was preceded in death by her husband Lee Coy Smith, Mother Ivor Lorine Fannin, Father Elmer Edward Fannin, Sister Mary Sue Drinkard, Brother-in law Elwood Drinkard, Nephew Elwood Drinkard Jr., Brothers Jesse Fannin, James Fannin, Thomas Fannin and Sister-in-law Mary Fannin.
Ivor leaves behind Gerald Smith, Wesley Smith (Tiffany and children), Vanessa Wood (Johnny), Angel Smith, grandchildren Laney Carl Smith and Leland Smith. She also leaves behind brothers Charlie, Billy, Bobby and Ronnie Fannin, Della Russell and husband Steve.
Also a host of nieces and nephews who will forever remember her.
The family has chosen to have a private memorial service for Ivor. She will be laid to rest in Boonetown Cemetary beside her beloved husband Lee Coy Smith.
