Isabell Carole Hollis, 77 years, of Groveton passed away peacefully on November 22, 2017 in Lufkin, Texas.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Bro. Neil Kemper officiating.  Burial will follow in Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Groveton Funeral Home.

Carole was born December 31, 1939 in Pennington, Texas the daughter of James Elmer Anderson and Fannie (Money) Anderson.  She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Carole was very active within the community and rarely ever met a stranger.  She enjoyed visiting with people and keeping up with what was happening in their lives.  She loved to cook and feed everyone.  Carole was also an avid gardener and especially enjoyed watching the birds, listening to music and watching sports.

Mrs. Hollis is preceded in death by her husband, Nelton Odell "Chubby" Hollis.; daughter, Gail Hollis Shaw; parents, James and Fannie Anderson and her three sisters, Billie Pate, Jimmie Glover, and Ann Bourque.

Mrs. Hollis is survived by her two children, son Nelton Odell Hollis, Jr. "Eddie" and wife, Denise Hollis of Huntsville, Texas and daughter Lynda Lea Hollis Fitts and husband, Brandon Fitts of Pollok, Texas; grandchildren:  Quinton Hollis, Heather Tieskoetter, Marlin Barrett, Annie Hart, Amy Landrum, Kyle Shaw, Wesley Dominey, Bradley McMullen, Shalana McMullen and Brandie Fitts; twenty-two great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and spouses: Joe Hollis and Nancy Hollis, Clayton Hollis and Alma Hollis, Bobby Glover and Wayne Bourque; as well her many beloved nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
