Funeral services for Irma Lee Spencer, age 66, of Groveton, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, in the Josserand Baptist Church in Groveton with Brother Bueford Rogers and Brother Tom officiating. Interment will follow in Stryker Cemetery. The family will begin receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, at Josserand Baptist Church.
Irma was born on April 3, 1949 in Corrigan, Texas to the late Gibson and Syble (Chandler) Mullican and passed away August 21, 2015 in Huntington. She was very passionate about her hobbies. She was a special collector of various colors of carnival glass, limited edition Barbie Dolls and anything that had to do with Coca ~ Cola products. She enjoyed going antiquing and looking around at numerous garage sales. She loved to talk and visit with everyone. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Irma would always "light-up" when she could be with her grandchildren. She loved to organize special events during Easter or at Christmas. She was a very caring woman and was always looking for ways to help anyone in need. She made sure that when she came into contact with people that they were to never leave hungry. She enjoyed seeing that people had a warm meal. Irma also enjoyed being outdoors and around her plants. She loved to be in the garden. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by her three children, son, James A. Spencer, Jr. (aka "Bo"), Gary Dale Spencer and Eric Keith Spencer and wife, April Spencer; four sisters, Louise Williams and husband, Jim Williams, Dorothy Parker and Willie Ward, Betty Green, and Linda Campbell and husband, John Campbell; Grandchildren, Jonathan and Noah Spencer, Jacob and Gracie Rangel, Thomas Hutchins, Matthew Thurman and Aidon and Wade Coker; special pet, her dog Co-Co and a host of very special cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Spencer; daughter-in-law, Renee' Spencer; sister, Wilma Moore and four brothers-in-law, Mike Scuito, James Moore, Gail Parker and Ray Green.
Pallbearers: Gary Spencer, Jonathon Spencer, John Scuito, Jeromy Parker, Pat Green, Russell Parker, Brian Fann and Willie Green.
