Mrs. Tullos was truly a survivor of one of the greatest generations ever lived. She grew up and survived through the great depression where she worked the fields to grow their own food of which helped to feed their family and provided corn to feed their livestock of which they used to plow the fields. She also helped to pick cotton, so her family could use the funds from the sale to provide funding for her family.
During WWII, Imogene also worked as a welder. Later, she was trained to work in the post master's position at the Centralia Post Office and then was appointed as the new post master. She worked six days a week at the post office and held the position as the post master for 48 years until her retirement.
Mrs. Tullos was truly a caring and giving person. She enjoyed helping others whenever she could. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them and attending bluegrass music festivals whenever they had the extra time. Imogene loved the Lord and was a Lifetime member of Centralia Church of Christ. She helped to plan many of the activities within the church and will be greatly missed for all her efforts.
