Obituary

Ila Parker Moore Vincent was born in a barn on a very cold and snowy day in Groveton, Texas to Bertie and Cuyler Parker on January 7, 1924. She married Harold Moore on December 23,1938 and moved to Houston where they had 2 daughters. Ila was a Beautician and owned her own beauty shop for 30 years. While she spent her adult life in Houston, she always considered Groveton her home and loved to go back and spend time there any time possible.

Ila was a wonderful Mother. She treasured her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved her role as Maw – whether that meant making Spam sandwiches, making croissants with loads of cheese and butter, playing Old Maid, hunting birds or trimming hair and bangs. She always had an open door to family and was known for having a special cake waiting for them. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went. Her customers at Ila's Beauty Shop loved her and were part of her family. She also loved to dance – whether it was Country Western or Cajun!

We will dearly miss our Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. We are thankful for our time with her and have so many cherished memories. Rest in Peace, Mom. We Love You.

Mrs. Ila is survived by her two daughters: Susan Brown and husband, Richard and Pat Soffes and husband, Cecil; Granddaughter: Kristen Collins and husband, Clayton; Grandsons: Jared Brown, Keith Soffes, Ray Soffes and wife, Mandy; Great Grandson: Cameron Soffes and wife, Stephanie, Maverick Collins, Great Granddaughter: Tiptyn Collins; Great Great Grandsons: Bradley Soffes, Jackson Soffes. Host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
