Funeral Services for Howard Winfred Hathorn, age 86 of Groveton, Texas will be Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Groveton with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Groveton Funeral Home.

He was born June 26, 1924 in Nogalus Prairie, Texas to Howard Madison Hathorn and Eva Jane Ainsworth Hathorn and went to be with the his Lord and savior on April 26, 2011 in Groveton, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Madison and Eva Hathorn.

Winfred is survived by his wife, Clara Hathorn of Groveton, Texas, son and daughter in law, Phil and Patsy Hathorn of Trinity, Texas, daughter and son in law, Judy and Bruce Atkinson of Conroe, Texas, grandchildren, Jason Hathorn and wife Hillary of Madisonville, Texas, Jared Hathorn and wife Kayla of New Waverly , Texas, Emily Atkinson and fiancé, Neal Fikes of Temple, Texas, Daniel Atkinson of Conroe, Texas, great grandchildren, Cade Hathorn, Cannon Hathorn, Jaxon Hathorn. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

The family would like to make a special thank you to his caregivers Kathy McCarty, Anna Mae Luce, and Linda Fondren.
