"Hank" was born on August 20, 1950 in Houston, Texas and passed away October 13, 2015 after his courageous battle with cancer at his home in Groveton. Hank was an avid outdoorsman. Having been on horseback from his youngest days with his Pappaw Bud Mims and his Mims' uncles he became an outstanding calf roper and loved the rodeo. He also excelled in any sport he ever tried especially as a star baseball pitcher in his youth. Hank's soft side showed a touch around young children. He loved snuggling babies and as soon as he could teach them something bad he loved that even more. Hank had a reputation for being tough but never had a fight he wouldn't start, nor one he wouldn't finish, a fish he wouldn't catch, or a deer he wouldn't hunt. Hank always kept everyone laughing and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, son Henry Raymond Shank, III and wife, Kenna, son Christopher Michael Shank, son Raymond Dewayne Shank and wife, April; loving mother Fadra Mims Sharp; siblings, Lisa O'Neill and husband, Myron, Keith Sharp and Kim Harder; grandchildren, Chase Shank, Brayden Guenther, Courtney Guenther, Colton Shank, Lane Shank, Warren Shank, Kelsie Shank, Kamryn Shank, Jason Magee and Meagan Magee; great grandchild Carter Smith; nieces, Shelley Sharp, Amanda Moody and Catherine Harder; great nephews, Waylon and Wyatt Moody; special friend Jennifer Baker and a host of other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by Henry Raymond Shank, Sr., Will Edward Sharp, Wes Sharp, A.D. Mims, Beuford Mims and Acie Mims.
