Born October 12, 1945, in Pennington, Texas to Aaron Pennington and Gertrude Evans Pennington, Hazel White Shaw passed away on December 19, 2024, at her home in Lufkin, Texas.
Hazel loved to cook for her family, play bingo, and sew. She worked for the Lufkin State School for a few years before beginning her career in education. She graduated from GW Carver High School with the class of 1965. She loved the Lord and was a member of the New Mount Herbon Baptist Church of Garland, where she served as a deaconess and on the usher board.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Gertrude Pennington; her husband and father of her children, Willie Ray White; her second husband, Henry Shaw; her brothers, A.J. Pennington and Donald Pennington; her sisters, Louise Adams and Coreen Pennington; and her brother-in-law, James Michael Bennett, Sr.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Dorothy Amartey and husband, Nicholas of Groveton; son, Willie Lloyd White and wife, Barbara of Irving; step-daughters, Kemetra Shaw and Shannon Shaw; grandchildren: Carolina, Alexis, Jordan, Jaylen, Makala, Jasmine Brown, Kevante Brown, and Brianna Brown; great-grandson, Ethan; brother, John A. Pennington; sisters, Doris Pennington and Katie Mae Bennett; brother, James Pennington; best friend Brenda Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, December 28, 2024, beginning at 10 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Groveton in Groveton, Texas, Bro. Sharrock officiating. Honorary Pallbearers: Jaylen Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Jason Bennett, Michael Bennett, Gregory Hodge and Jabar Glenn.
