Hazel Owens Hambrick, 69, of Groveton, Texas was called home to be with our Lord April 5, 2017.  Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a great friend.  She was a hard-working woman whose focus was always on her family.  She loved her children and especially her grandchildren.  In her leisure, she enjoyed watching her soap operas.  The world would just stop whenever she watched "The Young & The Restless" or "Days of Our Lives."

Hazel was met in Heaven by her parents Dock and Addie Owens and two of her siblings Bobby Owens and Linda Kay Owens.  She is survived by her children:  daughter Angela Burress and her two sons Lance Burress and Dustin "Scooter" Elrod, all of Groveton; two grandchildren Samantha Burress and Macowlan Burress; four brothers Donald Owens and wife Kathy of Corrigan, Randal Owens and wife Barbara of Groveton, Charles Owens and wife Sandra of Groveton and James Owens of Groveton; sister Lois Bryan and husband Lloyd of Lufkin and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Brother Bueford Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, Texas.
