Minister Harvey Earl Horace, 59, of Groveton went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 23, 2015. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Groveton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Groveton High School Auditorium with Ministers, Rev. C. Harvin, Elder Byron Coutee, Rev. Vernon Horace and Supt. Emmitt Horace officiating. Burial will follow in Lacey Cemetery.

Harvey was born on November 25, 1955 in Groveton, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board and Sunday Supt. under the leadership of Rev. V.L. Johnson.

Mr. Horace was employed with Texas Foundries for eighteen years, and Texas Department of Transportation for nineteen years until he had to take an early retirement due to his health.

On October 26, 1986 he was united in marriage to Beachie Marie Davis and to this union two children were born, Timothy Adam and Sarah Michelle Horace. Later, Harvey moved his membership to the Tabernacle of Refuge where he was called into ministry and ordained under the leadership of Anthony Gardner where he remained a faithful member until his health began to fail.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Hubbard Horace; two sisters, Flora Williams and Mable Cain; and three brothers, James Horace, Hubbard Horace, Jr. and Melvin Horace. Harvey leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Elizabeth Horace, of Groveton; wife, Beachie Horace, of Groveton; son, Timothy Horace, of Groveton; daughter, Sarah Michelle Horace, of Groveton; four sisters, Mary Jean Phipps, of Groveton, Velma Freeman and husband, John, of Houston, Wanda Gibbins, of Richland, Washington and Lynn Horace, of Groveton; three brothers, Eddie Lee Horace and wife, Linda, of Groveton, Willie Horace and wife, Jeannie, of Groveton and Bruce Horace and wife, Pamela, of Houston; a host of nieces, nephews and cherished friends, also survive.
