Obituary

Funeral services for Harold Lloyd Stubblefield, 82 of Groveton will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18th, 2018 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating and Bro. Neil Kemper assisting. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Harold was born on December 15th, 1935 in Trinity, Texas to Chester and Velma (Prothro) Stubblefield. God called Harold home on January 15, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert L. Stubblefield.
Mr. Stubblefield worked for the Coca-Cola Company in Lufkin, Texas from 1956-1961. In 1957 he met the love of his life, Margaret at Pennington School. They courted for a couple of years and were later married on April 18, 1959 in Trinity, Texas. Mr. Stubblefield was an extremely hard worker and worked doing numerous jobs throughout his lifetime. He worked for Consumers Fuel and Appliance Co. in Crockett, Texas in 1962, then later went to work for J.W. Connaroe at Groveton Butane in 1963 and in 1964 he began working at Temple Industries in Diboll, Texas. Mr. Stubblefield then went on to work for Louisiana Pacific in Corrigan, Texas from 1970-1971 and returned to work at Temple Industries in 1973 and onto Champion International from 1974 until the company changed to International paper in 1999. Mr. Stubblefield later retired in 2004.
Mr. Stubblefield is survived by his loving wife of 58 years and 9 months, Margaret (Norsworthy) Stubblefield of Groveton, Texas; 2 children: son, Harold L. Stubblefield, Jr. and wife, Marlena Wooley Stubblefield of Groveton, Texas and daughter, Judy Stubblefield Freeman and husband W.L. "Bo" Freeman of Groveton, Texas; grandchildren: Justin L. Stubblefield, Sarah C. Stubblefield Puckett and husband, David C. Puckett, Matthew S. James and Kristin, Steven Stubblefield and Pam, Cynthia D. Stubblefield, Becca and Bryan Ray; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Brodie and David Lane Puckett, Jesse, Frank and Hank James, Charli Stubblefield, Chase and Kelsey Cox; sister-in-law, Mary Stubblefield of Trinity, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
