Harold Irwin Cleland, of Friday, TX, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the age of 73, peacefully in his home, surrounded by his beloved family. Harold was born on August 22, 1948, in Houston, Texas to parents, Parker Cleland and Mildred (Albert) Cleland.   In 1966, Harold married the love of his life D`Ann (Ginn). Over 53 years of marriage, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a little heartache. Together, their faith in Jesus Christ saw them through it all. Harold spent 4 months and 16 days without his wife by his side.

Harold was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was very close with Amazon, he kept them in business. Harold also liked traveling, fishing, and just piddling. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren. Harold was a member of the Friday Volunteer Fire Department, Trinity Co. Fair Association, Friday's Buyers Group, and the Friday Community Group. He also was a member of the Groveton First Baptist Church.

Harold leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Greg Cleland; daughter: Melissa Chestnut of Friday, TX; sister: Virgina Godwin of Tomball, TX; grandchildren: Morgan Idom of Lumberton, TX, Raynee Cleland of Lumberton, Parker Chestnut of Friday, TX, Olivia Krupala of Bellville, TX; Great grandchildren: Irie and Brantley of Lumberton, TX; and a very best friend of 56 years Bill Wagner of Friday, TX; and a host of Other Relatives, and many friends also survive.

Harold is preceded in death by his loving parents, Parker Cleland, and Mildred (Albert); and loving wife of 53 years, D'ann (Ginn) Cleland.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Visitation will begin 10:00 am Friday, March 25, 2022, in the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Zion Hill Cemetery.
