Guy Merrill Draper, Jr. of Splendora, Texas, was born on August 10, 1952, in Bryan, Texas to Guy Merrill Draper, Sr. and Lillie (Kubecik) Draper and passed away to his eternal home on November 6, 2021, at the age of 69 years in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Draper is survived by his loving wife, Gayla Marie Draper; children: daughter, Michelle Hoskins and husband, Jerry Hoskins; son, Russell Draper; daughter, Sonja Gonzalez and husband, Kevin Kitzmiller; grandchildren: Ricky Gonzalez, Amanda Goss, Chris Gonzalez, Bubba Spinks, Jack Spinks, Dustin Rodriguez, Jazmine Rodriguez, Gage Gonzalez; great grandchildren: Malaki Gonzalez, Zaylaee Gonzalez, Maverick Gonzalez, Gracie Gaytan, CJ Gaytan, Presley Spinks, Remi Spinks, and Kayslyn Spinks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also, survive.
Mr. Draper is preceded in death by his parents, Guy Merrill Draper, Sr. and Lillie Marie Draper; brothers: Bill Coleman, Robert Coleman, Glen Coleman, Buddy Coleman, and Riley Draper; sisters: Betty Coleman and Bea Coleman; and great granddaughter: Lexi Marie.
Guy served in the Army and later worked as a truck driver. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved to watch football, hunt and occasionally do a little fishing.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Nogalus Prairie with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 12, 2021, with Bro. Nathan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
