Obituary

Grover Kenneth Ashworth was born on June 25, 1933, at his family home in Groveton, Texas, to Henry Vander Ashworth and Polly Ann Davis Ashworth.
Grover proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honored as a Disabled Veteran. Throughout much of his life, he worked as a carpenter, using his hands and his skill to build with dedication and care.
Grover loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Prairie View Methodist Church, where he faithfully attended worship services until his health no longer allowed.
He treasured the simple blessings of each day. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending quiet moments in his yard watching for deer.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathleen Stilley; his daughter, Melanie Watson, and her husband, Doug; and his son-in-law, Carl Rice.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Michelle Floyd and her husband, Rodney; John Kenneth Nobles and his wife, Amy; Steven Nobles and his wife, Ann; Marla Villanueva; Cody Ragland and his wife, April; Douglas Watson; Trace Watson; Mary Luna; and Ryan Luna; fourteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and his last surviving brother, Dewey Ashworth, and his wife, Ruth.
