Visitation for George Edward Smith, III, 64 of Apple Springs will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4 ^th, 2017 in the Calvary Church in Nogalus Prairie, Texas until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Troy Usleton officiating.  Burial will follow services in Calvary Cemetery.

George was born August 18 ^th, 1952 in Houston, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 31 ^st, 2016 in Tyler, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his mother Billie Jean Reynolds; two sisters: Janice Reynolds and Sheila Allen and a brother J.W. Reynolds.

Mr. Smith enjoyed life.  He was raised in a rather large family where he was one of eleven children.  He loved to spend time with his family throughout the years and enjoyed keeping up with everyone at numerous family events.  He also took pride in going on outings which included going hunting or fishing. He loved to be outdoors.  He worked in ranching and was known for his dedication to his workmanship.

George is survived by his children: son Joseph Smith and wife Connie of Apple Springs, son Johnny Gray of Brenham and daughter Audrey Smith of Houston; eleven grandchildren and one great grandson; four sisters: Billie Leal of Houston, Miranda Reynolds of Riverside, Lisa Burlile of Houston and Sandra Chrisman of Houston; three brothers:  Roger Smith of New Caney, Jerry Smith of Houston and Andre Reynolds of Katy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
