George Douglas Moore, of Conroe, formerly of Groveton, passed away August 23, 2022, at the age of eighty-four. George was born on April 23, 1938, in Crecy, Texas to father, James Carroll Moore and mother, Cora Elizabeth (Burks) Moore.
Doug graduated from Centerville ISD in 1956. He married the love of his life, Bessie (Lee) sixty-three years ago. He loved spending time with his family and attending special events. Mr. Moore was a member of Mims Baptist Church of Conroe where he served in numerous capacities. He also loved working on his farm and being outdoors with his dogs and cattle. Mr. Moore retired from Navistar International where he worked in sales as the manager for fifty-six years.
Mr. Moore leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, Bessie Moore of Conroe; his two sons, Gary Moore and wife, Sabina of Australia and Paul Moore and wife, Margaret of Willis; daughter, Karen "Cookie" Kirtley and husband, P.J. of Tomball; grandchildren: Wyatt Moore of Dallas, Elizabeth Moore of Willis, Kylee, Payton, and Chance Kirtley of Tomball; siblings: sister, Betty Duggan of Murphy; sister, Rebecca Herren of Marquez; sister, Kathryn Kaufman of Hilltop Lake; sister, Martha Wendt of Bellville; brother, Jim Ed Moore of Spring, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends also survive.

Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his loving parents: James and Cora Moore, brothers: Jake (John Calvin) Moore, James Hulen Moore, Kenneth Moore, Arthur Wayne Moore; sisters: Sylvia Eames, Jean Coon.

Visitation for George Douglas Moore will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. until funeral service time at 10:30 a.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX with Bro. Ronnie Max Dominey officiating. Interment will follow in Bennett Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors for food and fellowship after the services at Groveton Senior Center in Groveton, TX.
