Obituary

George William Michka was born December 19, 1943, in Live Oak County, Texas to parents, Raymond and Slivena (Shmoldas) Michka. He peacefully returned to his heavenly home Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of seventy-nine years.
George served in the United States Army and then went back to college to graduate with his Bachelor's Degree. Later he worked as an electrical engineer for Georgia Pacific. He loved to work and was employed with Georgia Pacific for the past thirty-eight years. He loved his family and spending time with them and his friends. He enjoyed working with his cattle, farming, traveling, and having fun in general. He loved life and living in Woodlake with his family. He enjoyed sharing the history of Woodlake. He also loved music.
Mr. Michka was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Slivena Michka; brother, Raymond Michka; and sister, Mary Alice Burgess.
Mr. Michka is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Jewel Marice Michka of Woodlake, Texas; daughter, Karon Michka of Las Vegas, Nevada; bonus daughter, Jillian Steptoe and husband, Richard of Pennington, Texas; grandchildren: Raychel and Aaron Moore of Conroe, Texas; bonus grandchildren: Brenley and Broxson Fuller of Pennington, Texas and Justin Steptoe of Austin, Texas; sister, Ann Zahn; brother, Louis Michka and wife, Shirley; brother, Joe Ed Michka and wife, Shirley; brother, Jerry Michka and wife, Linda; brother, Julius Michka and wife, Janet; brother, Fred Michka; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation for George William Michka will begin Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Groveton Funeral Home. Military Graveside services will begin Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in Center Hill Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.
