Gary "Linky" Meshell was born October 12, 1959 in Leesville, Louisiana to J.C. Meshell and Margie (LaRoux) Meshell. He died and went to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on January 15, 2021 in Shenandoah, Texas at the age of 61 years.
Linky loved to spend time with his grandchildren and friends. He especially loved being a "Poppa". He enjoyed hunting, buggy riding with friends and hosting crawfish boils with his family. Linky was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He grew up attending church in the Catholic church with his brothers and sisters in his youth and later attended Church of Christ with his loving wife, Sue Ann Lee Meshell. He met Sue Ann in 1998 and they became the best of friends. They married in Groveton, Texas on August 30, 2003. Linky also, loved camping at Wolf Creek and traveling to Mexico with his family and friends. He worked for Johnson Construction for numerous years until his untimely death. He will be missed by so many that knew him.
Mr. Meshell is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Sue Ann Meshell of Groveton, TX; his children: son, Joey Meshell and wife, Chasity of Converse, LA; daughter, Crystal Rivers of Converse, LA; son, Ryan Smith of Groveton, TX; daughter, Taylor Smith and husband, Cole of Groveton, TX; siblings: brother, Joe Ebarb and wife, Michelle of Groveton, TX; brother, Brett Meshell of Belmont, LA; sister, Nidean Mahan and husband, Rodney of Nacogdoches, TX; sister, Nina Meshell of Lufkin, TX; eleven grandchildren: Emylee, Greenlee, Hadley, Brody, Brady, Noah, Abby, Madison, Preslye, Peyton, and Karsyn; two great grandchildren: Kruz and Scout; special nephews, Tanner Ebarb and David Ebarb, and a host of other relatives and friends, also survive.
Linky is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Ebarb.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX with Pastor Tony Goins officiating. Burial will follow in Bennet Cemetery in Apple Springs, TX.
