The Lord has called home His faithful follower, Freeland White, Jr of Diboll.  Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2pm, at Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs with Bueford Rogers officiating.

Mr. White was born June 28, 1931 in Groveton to the late Freeland and Bertha Wright White and passed peacefully Monday, February 27, 2017.  Freeland grew up in Trinity County and was a graduate of Centerville High School.  He resided in the Diboll area all of his adult life.  Freeland retired from the Texas Highway Department after many years of striping and paving highways all over the East Texas area.  Freeland loved attending church and was of the Baptist faith.  His greatest past time and hobby was growing and tending to his year-round garden.  He was proud of his family, but almost as equally proud of his tasty cucumbers and turnip greens that he worked so tirelessly on.  It was not uncommon for Freeland to stay outside from sunup to sundown tending to his garden, pets, and land.  You could also be sure that he would not miss listening to football games on his radio or television.  Though his eyesight failed him in recent years, he could still listen and envision every pass and tackle in his mind's eye.  He will be missed by many.

Survived by son & daughter in law Ricky & Sharla White, daughter Sheila White Ricks, daughter & son in law Lisa & Jimmy Rogers; Grandchildren: Shanda White, Megan & Taylor Kovar, Erica & Randy DeLaCruz, Samantha & Christian Aguinaga, Mia & Luke Martin, Susan & Wayne Rouse, & Brandon Rogers. Great-Grandchildren: Logan Rouse, Kix & Kambry Kovar, Madeline Rogers, Oriana DeLaCruz, Kenneth Martin, & Victoria Aguinaga. Sisters: Daisy Chapman & Mildred Bazar. Preceded in death by son, Alvin White & son in law, Kenneth Ricks
