Obituary

Frank Cleveland Williams, 78, of Groveton, Texas, passed away peacefully at a medical facility in Houston on October 19, 2026.

Frank was born on December 10, 1947, in Crockett, Texas, to Harvey Hiram Williams, Sr., and Mary “Verne” (Driskell) Williams. He lived with intention, and family was always his greatest priority. He shared a special bond with his mother and, after her passing, inherited her family land. Frank took immense pride in keeping the property as pristine as she had.

A true empath, Frank, loved listening to others and helping however he could, never expecting anything in return. He cared deeply for his family, especially his nieces, great nieces, great nephews and treasured the friendships he built throughout his life. He also cared for his neighbors, who looked out for one another. Frank had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and was known by his family for his excellent marksmanship. He served in the Army National Guard.

Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Mary “Verne” Williams; his father, Harvey Hiram Williams, Sr.; his brother, Harvey Hiram Williams, Jr.; and his sister, Martha Dolan.

He is lovingly remembered by his special nieces, Chris Driskell and her husband, Joe David Driskell; Wendy Hall and her husband, John; Terri Martin and her husband, Tony; and Vicki Hiser and her husband, Larry. He is also survived by his great-nieces, Emily McLaughlin and her husband, Nate; Lacey Arthur and her husband, Zach; and Kasey Williams and her husband, Jacob; and his great-nephews, Kevin Hall and his wife, Kim; Kyle Hall and his wife, Erin; Dustin Willis and his wife, Lindsay; and Brad Hiser; along with many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

The family welcomes visitors to a memorial gathering at Groveton Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Groveton Ex Students Association to help provide scholarships for local youth—a cause close to Frank’s heart.
