Floyd Nathan Hart passed from this life into eternity on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Houston, TX, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 14 days. He was was born on Thursday, July 23, 1942 in Groveton, TX, to Clarence A. and Verna Lee Turner Hart. He graduated Groveton High School in 1960 and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, ROTC, majoring in engineering until Uncle Sam called him to Vietnam from 1965-1967. Floyd retired from Siemens as an electrician and electrical tool specialist.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Brown Hart, son, Nathan Hart, and two grandsons, Luke and Blake Hart, brother, George Lester Hart (Myra) of Pearland, TX, sisters, Jennifer Yoss (Rick) of Centerville, TX, Beverly Ryan (Steve) of Vienna, WV, and Dorothy Hart-Dean of Groveton, TX. Floyd also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, many with children and grandchildren of their own.

Floyd had two really special friends, Rev. Alonzo Tinker of Pasadena, TX and Daphanie Pinkston of Louise, TX and Adaptavet.org.

Joining Floyd in Heaven are his parents, Clarence and Verna Hart, brothers, Clarence Hart, Jr. (wives Betty and Dorothy), Thomas Wayne Hart, sisters: Melba Hart High (husband, Billy), Betty Hart-Holbrook-Chenoweth (husbands, Homer and Jessie), Marjorie Hart-Strickland-Spangler (husband, Leonard), two nephews, Chris Arnold and Kenneth Holbrook.

Floyd loved to draw and most of all, he loved music and fishing. He could sit for hours holding a fishing pole. He had more patience than the average man. He loved his family but, only second, to his love of Jesus Christ. He loved his Mother. He was a sharp dresser and would often hold up the school bus while he was combing Vitalis hair tonic into his hair and telling his mom, goodbye. His second-grade teacher, Juanita Davis, called him Peter Rabbit, while his coaches, Frank Minton and Monte Jack Driskell called him TNT and said, "Dynamite comes in small packages!"

Because Floyd gave his life to Christ at a young age, he is guaranteed a life in eternity with Jesus. We will see him again if we do the same. Floyd was once planning to be a preacher and often practiced delivering the gospel on top of a stump in the back yard while dressed in his pajamas. His siblings and pets had a front row. After his tour in Vietnam, Floyd was torn with decision and decided to raise a family instead.

Services for Floyd Nathan Hart will be held Friday, April 12, 2019, at Groveton Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. until services. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, TX.
