Fay Bell McCarty age 86, of Groveton was born on June 28, 1927 in Houston, Texas to her parents, Herbert and Fay (Dubose) Barr and passed away on November 2, 2013 in Groveton, Texas. Fay Bell was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church where she attended services until she was no longer able. She was also a very active member of the Groveton OES #1035.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar McCarty; a daughter, Janette McCarty Neilson; a son, Eddie Ray McCarty; and numerous siblings. Her survivors include her son, Steve McCarty and wife, Hahn, of Spring, Texas; son, Ronnie McCarty and wife, Kathy, of Woodlake, Texas; son, Stanley McCarty and wife, Deanna, of Moscow, Texas; daughter, Rebecca Sue McCarty Jesse and husband, Michael, of Groveton, Texas; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, David Barr and wife, Margie, of Jacksonville, Texas and a host of nices, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation for Mrs. McCarty will be held from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM, Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services for Fay Bell McCarty will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00AM at the Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Buford Rogers officiating and Bro. Lester McAdams assisting. She will be escorted to her final resting place in the Sumpter Cemetery in Woodlake, Texas by her grandsons serving as pallbearers Stephen McCarty, Jr., Chris McCarty, John Jesse and Joey Salagaj. Alton Mericle and Buford Rogers are also serving as pallbearers.
