Graveside services for Eva Dell Butler, 92, of Groveton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 15th, at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Butler was born on March 14, 1923 in the Crecey Community in Trinity County, Texas to Edmond and Ada O'dell (Goodman) Ashworth and passed away January 13, 2016 in Lufkin, Texas. Eva loved gardening, sewing and being out in her yard working in her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved being with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Ada Ashworth; her husband, Edgar Bain Butler; a daughter, Laura Dell Owens; brother, Delton Ashworth and an infant sister.

Mrs. Butler is survived by her children: son, Edward J. Butler and wife, Kathy Butler of Lufkin, Texas and daughter, Sue A. Hollis and husband, Grover Hollis of Groveton, Texas; grandchildren, Julie Dee Penka and husband Brian Penka of Texarkana, Arkansas, James E. Butler and wife Becky Butler of Huntington, Texas, Venona Perkins and husband Matt Perkins of Colorado Springs, Texas; great grandchildren, Destanie Bonham, Laurynn Stephens, Alexis Perkins, Mallory Butler and Patrick Butler; special friends, Wayne and Liz Brooks of Apple Springs, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
