Emma Jean Rhoden of Groveton, Texas, was born on February 18, 1949, in Brownsville, Texas to Floyd Alexander Farris and Marjorie (Steck) Farris and passed away to her eternal home on August 7, 2021, at the age of 72 years in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Rhoden worked in the educational field teaching at Corrigan Independent School for over twenty years. She loved teaching and being able to help the students. She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University where she received her bachelor's degree. Jean was a compassionate woman and she especially enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family. She also enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful blooms. Mrs. Rhoden married her best friend Harvey Franklin Rhoden December 7, 1965, in Cleveland, Texas. They resided in Cleveland for numerous years until they retired and moved to their home in Groveton, Texas.
Mr. Rhoden is survived by her Children: Sons, Jody Rhoden and wife, Deborah of Groveton, TX and Bradley "Jeff" Jefferson Rhoden of Groveton, TX; Daughter, Paula Revis and husband, Wesley of Panama City, Florida; Sister, Sara Jackson of Little River, TX; Sister, Velma Hengst of Conroe, TX; Brother, Billy Farris of the Woodlands, TX; Grandchildren: Brandyn LeMaster, Casey Rhoden, Jeff'ry Rhoden, Brady Rhoden, Kimberly Craig, Paige Williams, Hailey Revis, Zachary Revis, Ryan Revis; Numerous Great Grandchildren, Special Friend (more like a sister), Carliss Cline of Shepherd, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
Mrs. Rhoden is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Franklin Rhoden, father, Floyd Farris; mother, Marjorie Pauline Farris; twin brothers, Robert and Roy Farris, brother, Howard Farris, brother, James Farris, twin sister, Alma Dee Lykins, and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 6:00 PM at Groveton Funeral Home and funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Groveton Funeral Chapel in Groveton, TX with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bennett Cemetery.
