Emelie Kay (Kee) Bass, of Groveton, passed away September 7, 2022, at the age of seventy- three. Kay was born on August 21, 1949, in Houston, Texas to father, Orsbion Delmore Kee and mother, Carmel A. (Pruitt) Kee.

Kay graduated from Houston ISD.  She married the love of her life, Jean Bass in 2010.She loved spending time with her family and attending special events when she could. Kay was a member of Calvary Temple Church of Groveton. Kay enjoyed dancing in her younger years. She would always try to help anyone she could before her health got too bad then she was not able to go and do like she wanted.
Mrs. Kay leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband, Jean Bass; son, Matt Niday; daughter: Kandy and husband, Bobby; daughter Lanel; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: sister, Wilma White; a special angel Diane Pigg, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and many friends also survive.

Mrs. Kay is preceded in death by her loving parents: Orsbion and Camel Kee, son: Mark.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Temple in Groveton, TX with Bro. Lonnie Valance officiating.
