Lynn was born on December 31, 1954 in Livingston, Texas. He was the son of Guy and Judy (Dunn) Ogden. He passed away just before his 68th birthday, Monday, December 5th, 2022. Lynn, along with his sister and 4 brothers, grew up in Carlisle, Texas. His family spent a brief time, when Lynn was in junior high, farming in Lasara, Texas near the Rio Grande Valley. He graduated from the 8th grade in Lasara and often talked about his fond memories there. He graduated as Valedictorian from Groveton High School, class of 1973. Following graduation, he joined his father Guy, farming cotton in Houston County, Texas. Shortly after, he met his wife, Deanda Cathey, in Groveton. They were married on October 24th of 1975 in Austin, TX. Lynn and Deanda made Groveton their home, where they raised their two daughters, Lina and Amy. Lynn began work with the General Telephone Company GTE) in Trinity, Texas. He would work with GTE as a technician for the next 30 years.

Lynn loved his family and the outdoors. He and his wife Deanda loved to fish and hunt together. He was a collector by nature, and he loved to collect and repair boats; his family owned and operated a marina on Lake Livingston for over 10 years in the 1970s and 80s.

During his time in farming, he developed a love for John Deere tractors that lasted throughout his life. He was known for his overalls, camouflage, and John Deere cap.

His 6 grandchildren meant the world to him and he was so proud of them. He often travelled to watch his grandsons play baseball and he loved to spoil his granddaughters.

Lynn is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Deanda; his father Guy; mother Judy; sister Cheryl Brown, brother Wayne Ogden, and infant brother Robert Ogden. He is survived by his two daughters, Lina and husband David Snyder of Groveton, Texas; Amy and husband Roland Martinez of Spring, Texas; 6 grandchildren Sabine, Everett, Jakob, and Pierce Snyder, and Olivia and Paige Martinez; brother Guy Ogden, Jr. of Colorado and wife Kathleen; brother Jimmy Ogden of Trinity; brother Larry Ogden of Trinity; and many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, Groveton Funeral Home, Groveton,TX Internment: East Prairie Cemetery, Pennington, Texas.

Pallbearers: Jeremy Townsend, Ryan Cathey, Riley Ogden, John Barton, Riley Barrett, Jesse Burriss, and Ethan Cathey.
