Edward "Eddie" Donald King, Sr. passed from this life into eternity on September 6, 2019 after his courageous battle with cancer in Lufkin, TX at the age of 68 years. He was born in Livingston, TX on November 27, 1950, the son of Lonnie Edward King and Lometa Hopson King. He was a graduate of Humble Highschool Class of 1969 and went on to join and serve in the United Air Force. Later, he met the love of his life, Susan Smith and they were married in Rantoul, Illinois at the Chanute Air Force Base on July 2, 1971. Mr. King later became a fireman and worked for numerous years for the Houston Fire Department. In his leisure time, he enjoyed going fishing, mowing his lawn and being a mechanic. He loved to spend time with his family and he especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. King belonged as a member at First Baptist Church of Groveton.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Edward King and his brother, Butch King. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan King of Woodlake, TX; his children: daughter, Jennifer Rachel Woods of Woodlake, TX; daughter, Jody King and husband, Nabil Rabe of Conroe, TX; son, Edward "Donnie" King of New Caney, TX; mother, Lometa Fay King of Livingston, TX; two sisters, Martha Massey and Peggy Pike, both of Livingston, TX; grandchildren: Lonnie King, Rachel Baldridge, Tiffany Baldridge, Christopher King, Clayton King and Joey Smith; great grandchildren, Faith Reyes, Colton Meyer-Baldridge, Stetson King, Haven King, Sturlyn King, Johnny Reyes and a host of other relatives and friends, also survive.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 First Baptist Church of Groveton in Groveton, TX with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton, TX.
