Doris Jean (Downs) Selman was one of seven daughters to Arthur Lee Downs and Francis Shaw Downs. She was born on July 29, 1944 in Silsbee, TX and was called to her eternal home on September 5, 2020 in Crockett, TX at the age of 76 years.

Doris was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family because she loved to cook. She also enjoyed being outdoors whenever she could. She loved to work in her yard and keep it immaculate.

Mrs. Selman is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years, George Allen Selman of Groveton, TX; two sons: Brett Selman and wife, Michele of Groveton, TX and William Selman of Groveton, TX; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Hannah, Hayley and Brice; four sisters: Margaret, Betty, Connie and Bonnie and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Dorotha and Judy Ann.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Cemetery in Groveton, TX.
