Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Barton, 98 of Crockett, formerly of Groveton, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at the Groveton Funeral Home Cartwright Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bill Jester officiating. Interment will be in the Bennett Cemetery.
Mrs. Barton was born on December 19, 1913 in Scrub Creek, Trinity County Texas to Marshall Bedford Deaton and May Hutson Deaton and passed away on December 6, 2012 in Crockett, Texas.
She was a member of the Centralia Church of Christ and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 74 years George Barton, Brother Hutson Deaton and son in law: Dr. James Cook.
Surviving Mrs. Barton is her daughter Mrs. Barbara Cook of Crockett; Grandaughters: Pamela & James Barksdale of Houston and Kimberley & Matt Lewis of Houston; Sister in law: Nelda Deaton of Lovelady; Great Grandchildren: Patrick, Claire, Michael and Natalie Lewis, Meagan, Jack and William Barksdale.
