Donald Eugene Ward, age 74 of Groveton was born July 28, 1941 in Baytown, Texas and God called Mr. Ward home on Monday, June 20, 2016 in Corrigan.
Mr. Ward was a graduate of Groveton High School Class of 1960 and he was extremely proud to be a Groveton Indian. He loved Groveton and enjoyed being outdoors. He especially loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Ward joined the United States Navy after graduation and proudly served his time in the service. Afterwards, he worked at the chemical plant in Baytown for numerous years and then returned to Groveton.
He is preceded in death by his parents Maxie T. and Gladys Ward and a step-son Timothy Cox.
Mr. Ward is survived by his loving wife Barbara Ward of Bishop; step-son Samuel Cox and wife Peggy of Bishop; three grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Kasara Cox and Zachary Cox; five great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Ward and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Ward will be held at a later date with his family.
