Funeral services for Donald James Gainer, age 78 of Groveton, Texas will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of the Groveton Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Saron Cemetery.

Donald was born September 2, 1935 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to his parents, Hubert Gainer and Alta Holbert Gainer. He worked as a carpenter and worked with the Carpenters Local 551. He went to be with his Lord on November 29, 2013. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

He is preceded in death by James Edward Gainer, Donald Edward Gainer, Hubert Gainer and Alta Gainer. His survivors include his wife, Betty Nerren Gainer, of Groveton, Texas; Ricky Lynn Gainer, of Groveton, Texas; Kenneth Gainer, of Baytown, Texas; Robert L. Gainer, of Porter, Texas; Raymond Dale Gainer, of New Caney, Texas; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Groveton Funeral Home.
