Doc Sampert (Alfred Raymond Sampert) age 68 of Groveton, Texas passed away on July 14, 2019 after his courageous battle of Pancreatic Cancer.  He was born in Gainesville, Texas on October 20, 1950 to parents, Alfred and Faye Sampert who have now also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lynn Ebarb Sampert of Groveton, TX; daughter, Gina Davis and husband, Jason Davis; son, Michael Sampert; step-son, David Ebarb; brother, Tim Sampert; nine grandchildren: Logan Sampert, Kylie Sampert,, Harley Sampert, Jesse Sampert, Greycie Sampert, Charlie Sampert, Heaven Sampert, Bryce Kolb and Brooklyn Davis; uncles and aunts: Eddie Sampert and wife, Phyllis Sampert and Paul Sampert and wife, Sara Sampert, both of Gilmer, TX; brother-in law and sister-in-law, David Dove and wife, Terri Dove of Groveton, TX; sister-in-law, Gayle Martin of Groveton, TX; mother-in-law, Lila Gressett of Groveton, TX; nephew and niece, Jason and Mandy Flinn of Groveton, TX; special nieces: Jayda and Jordyn Long; special nephew, Brendon Flinn; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

Doc was raised in Odessa, TX where he attended and graduated from high school class of 1968.  Upon graduation, he joined the US Marine Corp and served during Vietnam. After returning to the states, he worked in welding.  He later met his wife, Lynn and they enjoyed going out dancing, traveling and Doc loved to ride motorcycles.  He belonged to My Father's House non-denominational church in the Scrub Creek community of Trinity County and enjoyed the time that he attended.  He also belonged to organizations such as American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) and to the Moose Lodge.
